What is a “Covered Call”
A covered call is an options strategy whereby an investor holds a long position in an asset and writes (sells) call options on that same asset in an attempt to generate increased income from the asset. This is often employed when an investor has a short-term neutral view on the asset and for this reason holds the asset long and simultaneously has a short position via the option to generate income from the option premium. A covered call is also known as a “buy-write”.

What is a “Collar”
A collar is a protective options strategy that is implemented after a long position in a stock has experienced substantial gains. An investor can create a collar position by purchasing an out-of-the-money put option while he simultaneously writes an out-of-the-money call option. A collar is also known as hedge wrapper.

What is the BXM(TM)?
The CBOE S&P 500 BuyWrite Index (BXM(TM)) is a benchmark index designed to track the performance of a hypothetical buy-write strategy on the S&P 500 Index.

The BXM(TM) is a passive total return index based on (1) buying an S&P 500® stock index portfolio, and (2) “writing” (or selling) the near-term S&P 500 Index (SPX(SM)) “covered” call option, generally on the third Friday of each month. The SPX(SM) call written will have about one month remaining to expiration, with an exercise price just above the prevailing index level (i.e., slightly out of the money). The SPX(SM) call is held until expiration and cash settled, at which time a new one-month, near-the-money call is written.

Relationships built on integrity, products built on research and analysis––all to help you better serve your clients.

When partnering with financial advisors and consultants as a third-party manager, we establish relationships that are personal and rooted in professional integrity. An increased number of fiduciaries overseeing a family office, large individual client or institutional portfolio have varied perspectives and priorities and that is why we customize our approach based on a clear and thorough understanding of the complexity of each organization’s financial goals and ambitions.

We then tailor a thoughtful investment portfolio on a custom-designed, fully discretionary basis to help achieve their required levels of income, capital protection, and tolerance for risk. After that, we continually monitor and adjust in response to an organization’s changing financial initiatives, as well as the ever-changing market landscape.

Connors Investor Services, Inc. has been investing on behalf of large clients, institutions and non-profit organizations for over 40 years.

There are many reasons why advisors have partnered with Connors Investor Services over the years and allowed us to help build investment tracks for their clients. After almost half a  century of building portfolios, we have learned that it is best to limit the number of engagements we have with clients and advisors, so we may focus the necessary time it takes to responsibly manage individual client portfolios.  Building portfolios for you is our focus.

We understand that you are relying on us to handle a specific investment allocation and want to be informed and professionally serviced, so you can concentrate on your wealth management practice.
